#GivingTuesday Golden Ticket Prizes

On #GivingTuesday, your nonprofit can win hourly incentives throughout the day.

Most Dollars Raised Power Hour Prizes:

The nonprofit with the most dollars raised during each of the following hours will win the power hour. All participating nonprofits are eligible.

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM | $500 prize
8:00 PM - 9:00 PM | $1000 prize
2:00 AM - 3:00 AM | $500 prize

Most Unique Donors Power Hour Prizes:

The nonprofit with the most unique donors during each of the following hours will win the power hour. All participating nonprofits are eligible.

Random Golden Tickets:

One donation will be randomly chosen to receive a $100 “boost” in each of the hours below:

#GivingTuesday Additional Prizes

Grassroots Prize:

The organization with the most active peer-to-peer fundraisers will win a $750 prize.

  • Peer-to-peer fundraisers must receive 5 unique donors to be considered “active”
  • Fundraisers must not be administrators for the nonprofit on Razoo in order to be considered a peer-to-peer fundraiser
  • Winner will be calculated and announced post-event

Early Giving Prize:

The organization with the most dollars raised by the time #GivingTuesday starts at 12:00 am on November 29th will win a $500 prize.

  • Donations will begin counting from November 22nd at 12:00 AM
  • Winner will be calculated and announced on the morning of #GivingTuesday

Facebook Donor Prize:

5 Lucky Donors that make their donation while signed into Razoo with Facebook will be chosen to receive a $100 boost!

  • $100 prize will be given to the donor’s advised nonprofit
  • Winners will be determined and announced post-event

Social Media Prizes:

In the weeks leading up to #GivingTuesday, we will be hosting contests on social media. Prizes will include funds and promotion for your campaign on Facebook and Razoo.com. For all social media prizes, the participating nonprofit must include the link to their Razoo page in their social posts.

PRIZE RULES

Prize grants are available to encourage nonprofit, fundraiser and donor participating in #GivingTuesday on Razoo. The spirit of the event, and these prize incentives are to support and benefit those nonprofit organizations that are actively using Razoo for their #GivingTuesday campaign. Therefore only organizations that have registered for #GivingTuesday on Razoo, and are actively promoting their Razoo page will be eligible for prizes. Prizes will be determined based on online donation activity on Razoo, offline donations are not eligible for prizes.

Leaderboard Rules

  • An organization can only win 1 Leaderboard Prize
  • Leaderboard category determinations are made based on information provided by participants during the registration process
  • Leaderboards will count donations from the beginning of secured pledges (November 22nd) through 11:59:59 PST on November 29th, 2016.
  • Leaderboards will be ranked based on dollars raised.

Hourly Prizes

  • An organization can only win 2 Hourly Prizes total
  • All Hourly prizes are listed in Eastern Standard Time
  • If an individual donor makes multiple donations to your organization, they will still only count as 1 unique donor

Rules

Participation: Any individual may donate. Donations made through givingtuesday.razoo.com to nonprofit organizations are 100% tax deductible and irrevocable. Donations will not be refunded. Contributions may be made via credit card, debit card or paypal. Checks are not accepted for this online giving event.

Eligibility for donations and prizes: All 501(c)3 legally IRS registered nonprofit organizations are eligible to participate in this giving event. Only organizations that register with Razoo for #GivingTuesday will be eligible to receive donations and prize grants. Please note that private non-operating foundations cannot receive donations on Razoo.com and are therefore not eligible to participate. Starting on November 22nd, donations will count toward the event totals.

Matching Grants: This campaign encourages organizations to offer their own dollar-for-dollar matching funds on their individual Razoo pages.

Minimum donation: The minimum donation on givingtuesday.razoo.com is $5.00. There is no maximum donation.

What is GivingTuesday? What is the goal?

#GivingTuesday is an unprecedented global movement of generosity founded in 2012 by New York’s 92nd Street Y in partnership with the United Nations Foundation. For the fourth year in a row, Razoo is hosting a Giving Day on our online giving platform inviting nonprofits and individuals from across America to join together and raise funds for the world changing causes that matter to them.

How does it work?

On November 29th, 2016, Razoo will host a 24-hour giving event encouraging charitable donations through our online giving platform in conjunction with the global #GivingTuesday movement.

Razoo will provide toolkits, training sessions, outreach support, mass media and social media coverage to make it easy for all nonprofits to participate. Each participating organization will have an individualized web page to promote their cause. This web page can also be used for year-round online fundraising.

Individuals will be able to donate money to the nonprofit organizations of their choice on November 29th, 2016. All donations are tax deductible and irrevocable. (Donations will not be refunded). Donors will receive a receipt for their gift. The nonprofit will receive contact information for each donor, unless the donor elects to remain anonymous.

The Razoo Foundation, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization which permits donors to advise a re-granting of their donations to other IRS recognized qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations, will accept the gifts and will then re-grant the monies to the nonprofits selected by the donors.

Who is behind it?

For the fourth year in a row, Razoo is hosting a Giving Day on our online giving platform inviting nonprofits and individuals from across America to join together and raise funds for the world changing causes that matter to them. Razoo is the industry leader in 24 hour giving days, with a crowdfunding platform built to serve all 501c3 nonprofits. How much of the donation will go to the nonprofit?

During #GivingTuesday on Razoo, the Razoo Foundation will retain 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction for transaction processing costs. Razoo has waived our 4% platform fee to ensure that more of every donation goes directly to the benefiting nonprofit. Donors also have the option to tip Razoo so that we may be able to continue providing our great services.

Is there a minimum or maximum donation?

The minimum donation for #GivingTuesday on Razoo is $5. There is no maximum donation limit for #GivingTuesday on Razoo.

Is there a limit to the amount an organization can receive?

There is no maximum amount an organization may receive for #GivingTuesday on Razoo.

Do I need an account on Razoo to donate?

No, you do not need to create an account to make a donation. However, if you plan to give multiple times during #GivingTuesday on Razoo, creating an account means you only have to enter your credit card information once. Your account also collects your tax receipts in one location and enables you to track your donation, review the charities your support and schedule future giving.

Can I donate to #GivingTuesday on Razoo on my smart phone?

Yes – this site is mobile friendly! Simply visit givingtuesday.razoo.com on your smartphone to browse all the amazing nonprofits participating.

Can I make my donation early for #GivingTuesday on Razoo?

Yes! Donors will be able to make their donations early, starting on November 22nd, while still having it count toward the giving day.

Can I fundraise for my favorite nonprofit?

Yes! You can be a hero for the cause(s) you care about – we call these Free Agent Fundraisers! Alternatively, you can visit the Organization Page of any nonprofit listed on Razoo and click “Fundraise” to start the page creation process. Please note that in order to create a Fundraising Page you will be prompted to sign into your Razoo user account, or create one if you don’t already have an account.

When individuals donate for #GivingTuesday on Razoo, who will receive their information?

The nonprofit organization receiving the donation will receive the contact information for the donor in order to conduct follow up communications, unless the donor chooses to make an anonymous donation. As the hosts, Razoo will also receive the information in order to send news and updates about #GivingTuesday on Razoo related activities. We will not share your information.

Who is able to participate?

All nonprofits with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status are eligible to participate in #GivingTuesday on Razoo.

What does my nonprofit need to do?

  • Broadcast your campaign's message using existing communication networks.
  • Utilize #GivingTuesday logo and other provided images and messages consistent with the branding guidelines.
  • Secure matching grants and prizes to entice donors to your group.
  • Recruit individuals to be Free Agent Fundraisers for your organization.
  • Consider organizing an outreach event or community stunt to help further increase exposure for your organization.

Is there a fee to participate?

There is no upfront fee to sign-up and participate. To give more back to our nonprofit partners, Razoo will be waiving our standard platform fee of 4.0% for all #GivingTuesday donations. Instead, we will give that 4.0% back to you! Razoo Foundation will retain 2.9% plus $0.30 of each donation made during #GivingTuesday on Razoo to cover credit card transaction fees.

After they make their donation to your organization, donors will be presented with the option to leave a "tip" to Razoo to help offset our costs for this event.

How can an organization receive donations?

If you are already listed on Razoo.com, you don't need to do anything except make sure your nonprofit's profile and page is updated and motivating. If your nonprofit is not listed on Razoo when you do a search, please email Razoo, at support@razoo.com for more information on how you can get listed.

Do you have video tutorials that explain the site and how it works?

Yes. You can view all our videos on our RazooGiving YouTube channel.

How will an organization know who has donated to them?

Organizations that have registered on Razoo can track donations in real time by logging-in to their Razoo account. Organizations will also receive an email notification for every donation. Nonprofits can download a detailed donation report at any time through their account to thank and follow-up with individual donors and tabulate donation value and number of donors. This .csv file can be used in Excel and is widely compatible with other spreadsheet applications.

Do I need to issue a tax receipt to my donors?

No, donations made through Razoo will be receipted from the Razoo Foundation. However, we do encourage designated charities to send a thank you note to their donors letting them know how awesome they are!

When will my organization receive the funds contributed?

Normally, The Razoo Foundation will disburse monies on the 10th of the month following receipt of the advised donation. For the November 29th, 2016 event monies will be disbursed by December 10th. You also have the option to sign up for electronic funds transfer to receive funds from #GivingTuesday without having to wait for a check.
